CDC Accounting 2023 27
Chris New

Chris Cheeney

CDC was launched in 2014 with a real desire to change the lives of business owners, helping them to achieve their financial dreams.

My business was initially set up to help Salon Owners but what I discovered is that all different types of businesses could benefit from what we had to offer from a financial process standpoint.

So here we are, ready to help all businesses implement the financial processes you need to give yourself and your business the best chance of success.

What gets measured gets results!

I’m bringing my corporate experience to support small businesses to make better, more informed business decisions so they can live the life they want to live.

If I am not working you can find me spending time with my children Eve and Tomi, coaching my sons football team, or playing golf.

Lisa New

Lisa Rothery

Lisa has been at CDC Accounting since 2018 and became Office Manager in 2023.

Lisa is responsible for continuous improvement of client experience and supports Chris with delivery processes, team development and business development.

Lisa is also responsible for the effective onboarding of new clients to CDC Accounting. Ensuring that all new clients are onboarded in a timely and effective manner.

Lisa’s passion for client care has come from a strong career in Pharmacy within the NHS. For this reason, our clients are always at the heart of what Lisa does.

Outside of work Lisa spends most of her time with her husband Simon, and their three children – ideally exploring the outdoors with their dog.

Richard New

Richard Wright

Richard joined the CDC team in April 2021, initially to support the extra demands of Furlough on the business. Richard has gone on to head up the Payroll department helping to launch Brightpay connect.

Richard and Chris have been friends since 1983, the year they were born, with Mums who are close friends. Chris knew Richard’s positive attitude would fit in with the team at CDC and even though Payroll is a new direction in Richard’s career he has embraced it fully and is now in full control of the payroll department, and ready to expand into other areas of the business.

Richards previous jobs saw him in roles such as Customer Service management, Supply Chain Management and Analysis.

Richard has a busy social life, when he’s not at the Zoo with Bev (his wife) and Demi (his daughter) you can find him at the gym, or working as an elite referee in the welsh leagues.

Matthew New

Matthew Atherton

Matthew first jumped into the world of accounting straight after his GCSE’s, where he studied it at A-levels. He then studied Accounting & Finance at the University of Chester. In his third year Matthew got a taste of real life accountancy when he completed a placement year at his local accountants, gaining the knowledge and skills he would use for the future.

Once he finished university in 2020, Matthew began studying for his ACCA qualification. His role at CDC Accounting involves completing final company accounts and tax returns, while also producing management reports on a monthly basis for a wide portfolio of clients.

Outside of work you’ll either find Matthew on the golf course trying to better his 6.8 handicap, or watching Manchester United.
