Here at CDC Accounting in wales, our team are thrilled to have had the opportunity to attend this year’s Xerocon conference, held in London during this past November. As one of the most renowned cloud accounting conferences in the world, Xerocon was an important event for the CDC Accounting team, as it is held annually by Xero, the company responsible for one of our most dependable accounting softwares, and one that we also provide client training for.

At Xerocon this year, we had the chance to hear from professionals and leaders within the industry, mingle with other accounting advisors, and learn about the new products available on the digital accounting circuit that could be beneficial for both our own team, and the clients we support day-to-day, for the improvement of business finances and strategies moving forwards,

Successful Systems

We were pleased to find that so many of the platforms and systems we use here at CDC Accounting – and recommend to our clients – were included in Xerocon this year, as testament to the success and efficiency that these products enable businesses.

These include ReceiptBank, incorporated as a conference partner with Xero, and FUTRLI, as the winner of the Practice App of the Year 2018 award.

Adapting to the Changing Landscape

With the introduction of Making Tax Digital in 2019, many aspects of Xerocon involved tackling the recommended and existing implemented changes to accommodate the upcoming updates to tax regulations.

These included the new betas under Xero, such as the MTD for VAT beta to provide an improved user experience of Xero in time for the switchover – and the introduction of new Xero mascot ‘Dexter the Digital Tax Advisor’, who will star in Xero’s upcoming short films created to simplify and increase awareness of the digital tax switchover, and support small businesses in preparing for the changes, and gaining a better understanding of the legislation to ensure tax compliance in 2019.
