2020, what a year. Its not every year that a pandemic puts a halt to life in such a devastating way. But 2020’s not been all bad. In fact, I’d say that CDC has had its most memorable and most positive time and I can definitely say that staring in Facebook lives and running workshops on Zoom were not on the to-do list for 2020.

For us, the year started positive with some great staff joining the team. Joanne joined as Practice manager in January and brought with her a huge amount of experience having worked in a chain of salons for 14 years as the Managing Director. Her knowledge of the salon industry has certainly benefited our salon clients.

No one expected life to take a sudden turn in March, and it saw the start of our team working remotely. New systems and equipment needed implementing and getting used to, which the team did full enthusiasm. We tried to make sure that any issues we were experiencing were not felt by our clients – who, lets face it were having a much harder time than us!

The closure of salons and clinics brought so much uncertainty and worry to the business owners and we wanted to make sure that we were there for our clients.

You all know where that lead us, a Facebook group for anyone in the salon industry. Hand on heart, I never expected it to take off like it did! My goal was to be there for our clients and anyone else who we could help. 600+ people joined and more that half were active at different times. Thank you to everyone who joined me for the various chats and zooms.

An unexpected but welcomed consequence of the support we were giving the group was the on-boarding of fantastic new clients. A huge thanks to my amazing team for rising to the challenge of the growing client list while juggling working from home with kids. They took everything I and HMRC through at them including Furlough, grant schemes and more moving goalposts than the football Euro’s training ground!

Lastly, I want to mention the genuinely amazing people who I now consider to be lifelong friends. The sincere way that people supported one another through these bleak times has humbled me. The friendly text to check someone’s ok, or the funny giff to cheer people up. The freely shared information and the offers of help. You guys are amazing 😊

Payroll

If you are a payroll client, can we please ask that all wages due to be processes prior to the office closing are emailed to the payroll team no later that the close of day Friday 18th December.

We will be closing at Midday on Wednesday 23rd December and will resume normal office hours as of 8am on Monday 4th January.

2021 is already looking exciting, and I can’t wait to share with you some HUGE news (but for now you’ll have to wait)🤐
